The University Prep (Redding) product started 25 games as a freshman, mostly at catcher, for Crown College in 2019. He had a career best three-hit game in a win over Minnesota Morris on April 9, 2019. Kyle finished the season hitting .274 with 20 hits and 14 runs scored. The Storm posted the winningest season in their NCAA DII era at the school (16-18). Kyle’s brother Nicholas also plays for Crown College in Saint Bonifacius, Minnesota.
